CHR Grant Application Instructions

Please begin by reviewing the Center's research priorities. Interested applicants should then complete the grant proposal form, which includes the outline shown below. Completed proposal forms (maximum length: three-pages, single-spaced) should be submitted by email attachment to CHR_UCB@berkeley.edu by March 21, 2005 for consideration in our next round of funding. Please feel free to contact the Center's Program Manager if you have questions about the Small Grant Program or its application process. Proposals that do not follow the requisite outline will be returned for resubmission.

A subcommittee of the Center's Advisory Committee will review all proposals and announce awards by April 25, 2005.

Proposal Outline:

1. Title of proposal
2. Brief description of (a) overall purpose, (b) specific objectives, and (c) significance of the proposed research project
3. Brief description of how the proposed project relates to the Center's research priorities
4. Brief description of PI's past or current work and how it relates to the present proposal
5. Overview of approach to the problem.
   (Please provide enough detail of the project's methodology to allow for accurate review.)
6. A copy of the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects approval letter, exemption, or submitted application
7. Brief description of expected results
8. Timeline
   (One-year-limit; July 1, 2005-June 30, 2006)
9. Budget
   ($5,000 maximum)
